Garments

Our collections combine the traditional textiles of India with modern designs to create clothes that are comfortable, ethnic and affordable.

We support not only the women artisans directly working in tailoring and embroidery units, but also the rural artisans who are involved in maintaining the craft traditions of India. We ensure that the artisans and other stakeholders in the supply chain are treated fairly.

Kritikala has a wide range of clothing - dresses and kurtis for women, handloom sarees and blouses with exquisite hand embroidery, short tops, pants, palazzos. We also have a range of shirts and kurtas for men. We focus on the traditional fabrics of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This includes Kalamkari fabric from Machalipatnam - made using block printing with vegetable dyes; Ikat fabric from Pochampally area - with the intricate tie and dye of yarns before weaving fabric on hand operated looms, and Mangalagiri cotton - unique double shaded cottons that typically have different shades on the warp and the weft.
